Corset piercings used to be a very temporary surface piercing that was usually done for 1 or 2 day shows, events or special occasions. Today, however, newer more flexible materials with a lower risk of rejection are available to make corsets last longer than a day or two.
While corset piercings look pretty cool right after they are done, as time goes by and rejection steps in they start to look pretty bad, red and inflamed in some cases, that is why they are normally very temporary unless very special care is taken.
How temporary or permanent a piercing is depends on the depth of the piercing, materials used and everyone's individual body and resistance to the material in the piercing being rejected.
